Rant Alot To Mark Taylor and Live Review
At Trillions Newcastle
Introduction By: Ginger Coyote

Beginning in mid July the powerhouse female dominated British band Syteria take to the Sheffield Tramlines to start playing shows to promote their album and spread the word about the wonders of Syteria....  down the smoke for a  major South London Show at The New Cross Inn on August 3, In mid September the band arrives in Arillas Greece playing four nights at the legendary Cofur Beer Fest which is quite an honor for the band. By mid October they are back playing at Whittles in Oldham U.K. Also to Sheffield to Host Their  fully costumed  Halloween Gig. Then in November its back to Scotland for their yearly Scottish mini tour ending in Troon at WinterStorm  Festival' -

We have included this video of the Syteria being interviewed and reviewed by Mark Taylor courtesy of Record Collectors Magazine. Enjoy

Meanwhile lets go back in time a bit to Newcastle where Record Collectors man at the bar(only when its a free bar!) Mark Taylor actually watched a gig while drooling into his pint mug..........here is what Marky had to say:

Syteria, the band formed by moonlighting Girlschool guitarist Jackie (JAX) Chambers, recently played oop North at the uber rock hang out, Trillians in Newcastle.

The feisty foursome grabbed the Geordies by the goolies and held tight for over a sweaty hour with the crowd begging for more.

Part metal, part punk and partly chaotic, Syteria opened their set with the bold statement of 'I'm All Woman' and they certainly weren't kidding with vocalist Julia Calvo, the senjorita from Argentina, dressed in spiky figure hugging leather and latex. To her left is the real Angel of the North in the cutesy Keira Kenworthy who plays a mean bass with pristine precision. Hiding in the corner but clearly seen in her red PVC trousers is Jackie Chambers who bends over backwards, giving it her all with every guitar solo. At the back and making sure that the girls don't get out of control is Calvo's drumming brother Pablo who has to come banging out front during the anthem 'Hypocrite' as the girls go cartoon capers living out their fantasies taking on a different fun loving personalities with Kenworthy laying on the floor posing as if she's at a glamour photo shoot as chaos resumes all around her.

Syteria can put the pedal to the metal with the razor sharp 'If' and lay their punk credentials bare with a cover of the Ramones grabber 'Rockaway Beach.

But the best thing about seeing Syteria live is the overriding element of fun. There's no preaching of politics or dreary doledrums here. It's all good natured tounge in cheek fun, what a Carry On... Ooh Matron.

Before the show Syteria's globe trotting manager Dutch Michaels and drummer Pablo Calvo went to a meeting with The London Drumstick Company to talk endorsement, while journalist Mark Taylor was brave/foolish enough to be locked inside Syteria's hotel suite with the three girls, Jackie,Keira and Julia, as they painted liquid latex on each other while nattering about the history of the band plus the album 'Rant-O-Bot' as well as their latest promotional video for 'Revolution' and their Far East trip to Thailand.
