First off I would like to say that the Sticks and Stones I am writing abouve is not the same punk band as the one with Pete Ventantonio, Chris Calello, Osamu Kawahara and Johnny X . They are certainly a fine band and since they have reformed they may be visited here. I digress.
This Sticks and Stones is based in the West Coast near San Francisco and is more familiar with "Kashmir" than with "Theme Song For Nothing."
They shred. They rock. they noodle. This is progressive stuff.
Progressive rock is not bad, it can become annoying when it is merely based on the exhibitionism of the players, but I didn't feel this on the album. I liked "A Line in the News" and "Wagon Wheel," although I found their confidence to be showing throughout.  There is a tendency for this kind of instrumental music to become
 I know that Gretchen Menn is in the all-girl Zeppelin cover band Zeperella.
