Its hard to have a peaceful punk show where there are no cliques and groups and everybody is friends. it was rad I literally saw only one person I don't particularly care for and even they smiled at me and said "hi"...the reason being the environment Lisa Monday-Gomez created was that of a family gathering!!

Steve Davis-Stevie D. Despo-Davis Art

Firstly I wanna say a big thank you to you for asking me for my two cents, and for all you do for the punk rock community

Punk Globe: What was your opinion of the festival?

Stevie D: Well, from the minute me and Los Gattos pulled up and walked into The Bancroft, I felt welcomed. Finally met you Lisa after hearing your voice for yours on my speakers was so great! A sense of community is the first impression I observed, and that everyone who was there were there for the same reason, to have a good time, play some punk rock and celebrate five years. Was to cool. Definitely I got the feeling this wasn't the first event of it's kind, and was totally organized and the whole evening went smooth. The Headhunters food truck was doing a good biz, and everything I had off it was uber delish! I knew I was in the presence of comradely and friends. Like I say all for one and four for a buck.

Punk Globe: What Bands did you see at the festival?

Stevie D: Oh gee, saw most all of them I think. SteelToe, Sculpins, Revolt-Chix, The Ramones Tribute/The Rockaways, Spice Pistols, Los Gattos. Enjoyed every single one of them!

Punk Globe: Which Band did you most enjoy?

Stevie D: Rockaways Ramones Tribute w/my friends Los Gattos a down stroke behind them.

Punk Globe: Will you be at next years event?

Stevie D: Can't wait! That's my fullest intention at this time. Gonna see about The Brand playing if at all possible. Absolutely.

Punk Globe: Do you have a memorable festival moment?

Stevie D: I have a few, unable to whittle them down to just one moment. First of all meeting you Lisa. As I mentioned after all these years of hearing you on the airwaves was a gas. The total community of everyone there that night. The bands playing their asses off, laying it all out there. The fact that you had Despo Davis Art too. As well as meeting everyone I did.

Punk Globe: How would you describe the event to your friends?

Stevie D: Already been spreading the news not only about WE68, as well as letting my friends know how smooth everything went down, the sense of community made an impression on me. Still buzzing from the event. How much energy was there that evening, also the frigggen Headhunters food truck was on point with the eats after a late cancellation by a caterer. Definitely keeps my fuse lit. The spirit of punk rock the entire evening, was good for my soul. Thanks again Lisa, Rock On!

Tyson Ellingsen/Slim Shoots Bands-Event Photographer

Punk Globe: What was your opinion of the festival?

Tyson: I thought it was an amazing display of what punk and DIY culture is about. Everyone was there to support each other and bring each other up. I was so impressed with how Lisa pulled it off.

Tyson: My friends bands BDSM were n amazing last minute addition to the night. Sculpins are a fantastic band from San Diego everyone should check out. The Spice Pistols are this amazing band who cover Sex Pistols and Drag Queens and they do it in drag. I had no idea about that until they went on and it was a fantastic surprise!

Punk Globe: Which Band did you most enjoy?

Tyson: Every band was amazing but I have to say my boys In Sculpins and BDSM always puts on an amazing show. This time they had a pink smoke bomb!

Punk Globe: Will you be at next years event?

Tyson: Of course Lisa is like my family now I wouldn't miss it!

Punk Globe: Do you have a memorable festival moment?

Tyson: When BDSM threw the smoke bomb, they're full of treats like that. They throw firecrackers a lot and Liz their bassist would wear strap-on and flog people on stage with sex toys.

I was also really impressed with Sky/Endele Wilson’s solo set.

Punk Globe: How would you describe the event to your friends?

Tyson: “You guys Lisa and her station are just like our scene and supporting DIY music with your friends” Where I live in the IE we have a thriving tight-knit punk scene too and I’ve been telling my friends about you and vice-versa.

Timm Saxton-Event Band

Punk Globe: What was your opinion of the festival?

Punk Globe: What Bands did you see at the festival?

Timm: The Sculpins really tore it up. Lots of great energy from those guys. It was also great to see my friend Corey and his band BDSM showing up to save the day.

Punk Globe: Which Band did you most enjoy?

Timm: I got there a little late I really only got a chance to check out a few bands but I'll have to say over the years of playing this this Sculpins have really built up a great dynamic. And of course BDSM puts on a great show. Really wished I would have got there early enough to see Twitching Fingers.

Punk Globe: Will you be at next years event?

Timm: God willing

Punk Globe: Do you have a memorable festival moment?

Timm: This is a great question. And as a matter of fact I do. A very old time friend of mine Steven Gearhart and his wonderful gal ran the food truck for the festival Headhunter food. They have really great food. I remember back a long time ago when I was running a club in Fullerton and they had a hot dog cart and now it's full-blown so proud of that guy. The cool part was it was the anniversary of my very good friends passing from heroin overdose almost 20 years ago he was also friends with him so for him to be at the show was extra special for me I remember sitting on stage finishing my first song and I saw him lean in and say I'm really glad I got to see that period I was really glad he got to see it too.

Punk Globe: How would you describe the event to your friends?

Timm: It's just a great day of good energy a lot of great music from a lot of people who simply play music because it's fun to rock out and jump around with your friends.

I would like to think Lisa Monday-Gomez for including me every year it means a lot. And I look forward to the next as everyone should it really is a good time. And performing at it every year is something I look forward to

Punk Globe: What was your opinion of the festival?

Duncan: It was the tits!!

Punk Globe: Will you be at next years event?

Duncan: you're damn right

Punk Globe: Do you have a memorable festival moment?

Duncan: I remember when Aaron's bass wouldn't work and then when it finally did a string broke and stuff? That was funny. Oh and those brats doh, from Headhunter...goddamn.

Punk Globe: How would you describe the event to your friends?

Duncan: I'd be like; "if you like to have fun, then you'd like this event. But if you hate a good time, then it's not for you." ...Because then my friend would feel pretty lame if they didn't go next year. It would be like admitting that they were boring.
