20 years have zoomed by since Denise PYGMY Fantinato of PAISLEY PRODUCTIONS booked punk shows at Vancouver's legendary CLUB SODA/STARFISH ROOM in Vancouver, B.C.. The doors to the bar have long since closed, but the spirit of the "NAUGHTY 90's circa 2009" was most certainly alive & well at Ms. PYGMY's "I SURVIVED PUNK" Summer Shindig!..... "JOHNNY SWENSON & THE VICE KINGS" got the party started with "HORNS A PLENTY"!! The "Vice Kings" are shades of THE RAMONES clad with plastic viking helmets & VOX Amps! Frontman Johnny Swenson has to have one the best handlebar mustaches around! Vice King guitarist, Marc Manhattan ( ex. member of "THE OUTRAGEOUS VALENTINOS", & current L.A. based band "SOUL KID #1") was given a warm welcome back to "The Couve" from all of the nostalgic party-goers! MANHATTAN is back from L.A., with a DREAMWORKS record deal in tow with SOULKID #1's hit "Theres More Bounce In California!",... (soon to be featured on the t.v. show "DANCING WITH THE STARS!")...

..."THE MANGLERS", (Vancouver's only STRANGLER tribute), were up next, playing all the faves..."Golden Brown", & "Walking Down The Beaches Looking At the Peaches" were some of The Strangler's hits performed, proving that DOUG DONUT of DEATH SENTENCE can not only play drums like a mofo, but he can also front, sing & play guitar like nobodies business!! Mistress Jen also deserves props for tinkling on the ivories!!...The Mangler's next performance will be on Halloween at THE RICKSHAW THEATRE supporting Vancouver's only CRAMPS tribute... "BAD PEOPLE", starring "BILLY HOPELESS" of the BLACK HALOS paying homage to THE LATE, GREAT, LUX INTERIOR (RIP), & yours truly, "GERRY-JENN WILSON" as "POISON IVY!"

..."THEDA BARAS" Vancougrr's "East Van. VAMPS with AMPS ON #11!!" was the all femme fatale main attraction of night playing their smash debut show! The "ALL STAR GRRL TRIO" kicked off their set by covering the instant crowd pleaser "SUCKER" by "THE WHITE TRASH DEBUTANTES!!!" The Legendary RANDY RAMPAGE of (D.O.A. & Annihilator) joined Ms. GERRY-JENN on vocals for a wicked rendition of "THE REZILLO'S" cover..."Somebodies Gonna Get Their Head Kicked-In Tonight!!!"..."THEDA BARAS" is Vancouver's new "SHE-SHE" ROCK & ROLL FORCE to be reckoned with & left the thirsty crowd wanting MORE!!!....

...(In The End...) In true PUNK ANTI-FASHION..... "GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!"...When you get a bunch of talent under the same stars at an "I SURVIVED PUNK ROCK SHINDIG", it would be a shame not to "LET THE MUSIC DO THE TALKING!"...The "THEDA BARAS" ENCORE turned into an "ALL-STAR PUNK JAM" with BRIAN (WIMPY) ROY on Bass from (DOA, RUDE NORTON), "JOHNNY SWENSON" & friends on guitar, RANDY BOWMAN from (The Scramblers, The BTUs) & DOUG DONUT (DEATH SENTENCE, THE MANGLERS) on Drums, & RANDY RAMPAGE from (D.O.A.) on the mic. crooning to "SLAVE TO MY DICK!"...RON REYES (Ex. singer from BLACK FLAG, CRASH! BANG! CRUNCH! POP! & KILL CITY) stole the show doing an awesome rendition of IGGY & THE STOOGES "NOW I WANNA BE YOUR DOG!"...a fitting song choice, since THE HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTESS..."DENISE PYGMY FANTINATO" of (Paisley Productions), & her lovely husband Alejandro (Ex. Drummer from THE CHEETAH CHROME MOTHERFUCKERS) now run a doggy daycare business
called "SEE SPOT RUN"!!

A good time was had by all at the "I SURVIVED PUNK" REUNION/PARTY!!"...MS. BEV DAVIES,(Vancouver Punk Photographer), was present to capture all of the MOHAWK MOMENTS, & also had all of her contact sheets on display from her present photo exhibit at The Chapel Art Gallery, here in Vancouver, B.C.!!!...
