Punk Avenue
By: Phil Marcade
Three Rooms Press
Book Review By: Ginger Coyote

I was hard to put this book down. It's a fun and dishy read! Philippe Marcade gives readers some wild stories from his early years in France to his punk days in New York City. Marcade upon arriving in the Big Apple where he hobnobbed with The Ramones, Debbie Harry (who writes the preface for the book), Legs McNeil (who writes the forward) , Chris Stein, Sable Starr (who wrote a short preface before she left us), Johnny Thunders, Phyllis Stein, Jayne County, Sid Vicious, Nancy Spungen and more, He shares stories about the fore- mentioned He gives us details about his own band The Senders, who never played with Blondie.. Much to his regret. He gives us the real 411 about both CBGB's and Max's Kansas City and the drug scene that was happening.
