Interview With Princess Dmanda
by Steve DIY

Street Voice supports all forms of alternative modelling as long as it don´t involve cruelty to animals etc. What consenting people want to do is their choice and no one has the right to be dismissive. The models I´ve featured so far have been American but this morning I bumped into Princess Dmanda from Scotland. Still fairly new to this scene but what I´ve seen so far has impressed so here´s what she had to say:

Punk Globe: Can you introduce yourself to our readers?

I´m Princess Dmanda, the Empress of Dark Perversion and all round sick bitch, and Scottish lassie! I love blood and the sexual side of horror. I like to be Worshipped - mwhawahahha!

Punk Globe: What inspired you to take up alternative modelling in the first place?

I´m an exhibtionist! I love getting my photograph taken and expressing my intense sexuality. I also love dressing up and looking like a Goddess, dammit what girl doesn´t?! I also felt that erotic horror photography was getting a bit stagnent and focusing too much on vampires and shying away from the harder stuff such as murder shoots. I wanted to change that.

Punk Globe: At what age did you start to pose naked?

20 years old, the age I started modelling at. I want to make something clear to any girls who want to get into Fetish modelling - if you are 17, wait until your 18. It is ILLEGAL to do any kind of sexual or nude modelling until your 18. Trust me, just wait! And if you are 18 it pays to have some form of ID with you - some photographers in particular those doing hard fetish shoots won´t work with you if have no ID.

Punk Globe: I notice you wont work with fur or snake skin so would I be presuming correct that you´re vegetarian?

Actually no. Let me explain myself! I´ve been into Shamanism for a very long time (since I was 15) I understand that in nature animals eat each other as a means of survivel, in order for life to go on there must be death. Humanity has been a hunter from the begining, it´s natural for us to be meat eaters, nevertheless that´s no excuse for cruelty. I eat organic meat and eggs, factory farms are horrible places.

I´d have to disagree there - Meat Eating is not natural.

As for the fur and snake skin question, it takes up to 40 mink to make up a fur coat - and how many people can actually afford one? Also the methods used to kill mink are barbaric, as for snake skin, put it this way. Reptile skin is not as elastic as mammlian skin, in order for reptile leather to be supple, the animal has to be skinned alive. Thats why I will not wear fur or reptile leather.

Punk Globe: The UK seems to be rather prudish to your line of work so do you get much grief because of your chosen career?

Most people seem to be ok with it, others seem to think I´m being exploited. Some people want to save my soul! It´s just basic fear of female sexuality and the depths it can reach, the British Goverment doesn´t seem to understand that women who model in the porn industry or fetish scene are there because they want to be there, the very idea of women actually feeling sexual doesn´t sit well with them. I hate how women are always made to feel like we are the victims of men! Bullshit! Stand up for yourselves girls! The new crackdown on violent pornography is going to hit me hard me thinks! But I´ll still keep rolling around in blood, regardless of what they think!

Punk Globe: So what are your hopes and expectations in 2006?

Well I´m hoping to travel a bit more! I´d like to go to Norway and watch wild orcas at some point, My boyfriend and I may also be going to Amsterdam as well. I hope to get even further into Alternative modelling and hopefully break into performance and acting. I want to be a Scream Queen! I also want my own paysite one day!

Punk Globe: You also listen to a lot of alternative music so what are your fave bands at the moment?

Nightwish, Iced Earth and Mercyful Fate are on a steady spin on my cd player at the moment.

Punk Globe: For your career would it not be easier for you to move to somewhere like London?

Yes, it probably would but London isn´t a place I would want to live in constantly. I´d be content just to travel there for jobs.

Punk Globe: Outside modelling what are your interests?

I´m also a Decorative Glass artist in training! I also write and paint. I´m also a compentant snake handler and whale watcher and do a bit of bird watching as well. Most weekends you´ll find me in the Solid Rock cafe in Glasgow or at some Underground Metal gig, a little bit merry! So if your ever in Glasgow don´t be afraid to come up and say hello, I don´t bite that hard!

Punk Globe: Anything you´d like to add?

Check out my website. And...keep it real, keep it sick as fuck!

Thanks for Princess Dmanda for taking time out to do this interview. Please do check her work out as there´s much more to come!
