"Drink Up and Enjoy!" say the Liner Notes.....well, ok, that's exactly what I intend to do, then kick back and listen to 'Pure Organic Junk', the latest release by Peter Blast.

Peter Blast is a true rock 'n roll survivor, he's been around, 'blasting out' his blend of blues/punk/country rock n roll for over thirty years, been through the punk years, the 80's glam scene, the 90's rock 'n punk scene, and here he is, still wiping the floor with the competition.

This release tracks his earlier material and throws in some newer compositions. He manages to find a way of gelling nearly every genre and coming up with a brand of pure rock n sleaze that will have you rockin' the night away!

Two tracks that take you instantly back to the halcyon days of 1977,  'Orange Sunshine' and 'See No Evil' open the show, both could have been played by any number of bands of the day. Guitar driven and rocking, Peter knows his way 'round a fretboard and it shows!!! The guitar sounds are reminiscent of his old friend Johnny Thunders, a simple attack of the jugular vein, delivered by the combination of Gibson Les Paul Special and Fender Twin.

'And just for you too' is a beautiful piece of art, simple acoustic song, accompanied with strings and harmony.....it's too much! He brings the rockin' side of his character right back at ya with 'As Sharp As A Knife', a blitz of loud, aggressive guitar and great rhythmic chorus....you'll be singing this one all day long, I guarantee it!

'Heaven Only Knows' with it's addition of a slide guitar sound and wonderful melody coulda, shoulda, woulda been a contender....how did this one slip by the attention of the Radio People???   I guess the answer is in the song title, my friend!

Heartbreakers fans will love this compilation by the Blast...'On a Derailed Train' could have featured on L.A.M.F, it's so damned good!! He knows how to rock, he knows how to roll, but he's tired of livin' on a derailed train...Buddy, it doesn't sound like you are!

'Place The Blame On Me' reminds me of Dogs D'Amour and Quireboys, with its country guitar and piano, the lyrics make you stop dead in your tracks and shows a mellow and tender side to this artist. The tempo of the collection is right on the money, it has a mix of rockers and slower songs so it just doesn't bludgeon you to death....'in the end you can place the blame on me' the song goes...ok, I will...'cos now I have to listen to it all over again, and again, and again...it's that good!

The rest of the CD is simply just as good, blending snarling guitar, slide, acoustic, piano, violin, all mixed together, to slap your face while Peter Blast's unique vocal style oversees things. 'Little Sister Of Mercy' again should have been a huge hit, as should 'It's a Cruel Cruel World' - blues of the darkest order! From darkness comes light, and when 'On an Angel's Wing' starts, you are in for an emotional trip of a lifetime.

There are two bonus tracks on the CD, the excellent 'Good Girls Gone Bad' and tribute paid to an obvious inspiration with 'Pills' a live track previously unreleased. If you're a fan of the Dolls, Stooges, Hanoi Rocks, Dead Boys amongst others, you're gonna love Peter Blast....
