Hello 36-hour party people.
Welcome to Hollywood the musical home of Rock and Roll, movie stars,
Gypsys,Tramps and Thieves.
Haunted
Garage played at Safari Sam's and the
old guard was out in force. Barb from Duchess de Sade, Debra the no.1
piercer in Maui, Botanist Andre, who flew in from San Francisco and
joined us at the Buzzbin party at the Vine Bar some days later and the
gang.
There was lots of fake Blood and Rock and Roll.
Someone said that the temperature in
California is great preparation for Hell. It has been boiling in Hell.
I usually sing with Actor Jeff Goldblum on Wednesday at Aqua
in
Beverly Hills. But it was too hot this week. Most people don't
know Jeff is not only an actor but a great jazz piano
player. He gets the gals and I know why! What a smooth guy he is.
We
had a night of easy listening and actor Billy Zane came to the 01
gallery to hang with us bohemians and listen to my old friend
DJ Tay.
People at the 01 have known each other for long time --
sometimes
decades
I managed to miss the Target Video Party at MOCA gallery
downtown. Target Video is from San Francisco, and started
shooting Punk
shows in the 80's. I went to visit with Specimen, way back when I was
starting the booking for New Wave Theater.
Shane West, who is the new Darby Crash replacement and Don Bolles from
the Germs, Henry Rollins, Ginger Coyote from Punk Globe
magazine, did, however, make the show...Now on Sunday, July 20th, Punk Globe is going
to have its 30th Birthday party at the Vine Bar -- www.punkglobemagazine.com
The Sex Pistols played in Las Vegas to a packed house. The videos' are
on Youtube.
It's
great to see the boys touring. I saw footage of the Isle of Wight
Festival where they played with Ian Brown; and Iggy Pop and the
Stooges,
with bass player to the Gods, Mike Watt. Now they are playing in Moscow
tomorrow, and they have 30 plus shows in Europe.
In sadder news...Traci Michealz from the Peppermint Creeps
was found dead on the bus while touring Texas. I went to his wake at
the Rainbow.
Jack Marquette who was co creator of the Anti Club in the 80's. We gave
the first LA shows to the likes
of Sonic Youth. He was a sweet man and I loved him too.
Girlz
of
Zaetar has reunited after 20 years and played two gigs in LA and one in
New York. Chaos rules the day.
Mojo from Rock City News just started a
new magazine called Lost Anarchy. He
and I write for Rock City News as well. Last night we were hanging at
the Rainbow with Marvin, drinking Champagne, and Scotty, Lemmy's
Hollywood bodyguard in between songs upstairs where I hostess Karaoke
with Miss Kimmy and the Twinny Twins.
I have just been elected Queen of
the Sunset Strip by the Star Radio DJ for 98.7fm. I'm going on the air
on Monday!
Is it the soccer season? 'Cause Johnny Rotten at the Cat and
Fiddle. Slash and Morrissey have been hiding out at my favorite pub as
well. I'll never forget my Morrisey New Year's kiss! He was a fan of
Harry the Dog and used to come to our shows. He has very soft kiss, I
could see where girlfriend in a coma came from...
I have been getting lost a lot. Lately it happens when I fall in
love, I lose my way to the living room of my apartment.T his time I was
sure that their was a party on the bridge in Pasadena.I was a week
early so my pal Cindy and I went to the Pasadena Barney's Beanery. The
sister of the Beanery where Janis Joplin had her last meal before she
died. We had a pitcher of beer and watched soccer.
Punk
Globe Magazine is celebrating its 30th year Anniversary at
The
Vine Street Bar at 1235 Vine Street...Meri St. Mary AKA: Meri
Housecoat and I will be Dee Jays...Poncho and Jayne County
will have
their Art shown, and Actress Pauley Perrette from "NCIS" will be showing
her photography on Sunday July 20,2008. Be there!
Victoria Beckham went strolling though my favorite Farmer's Market
in a Orange backless sun dress with a body guard at her side. Otherwise
she looks like every other half naked woman there. I wanted to ask her,
"Tell me what you want what you really really want!" I bought 2 tiedye
dresses from Belizean Gal made by my friend Deborrah Fairweather.I
always eat at Kamal's International every Sunday 'cause I love Greek
food. My friend Barbara is the duchess of decoupage.I sit at her booth,
and watch the stars go by.
We all go to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for the Ramones
tribute. Everyone goes to the graveyard and watches movies. We ae
having this party on August 1st. I got my information from myspace via
Johnny Ramones' Army. Summer also means free shows at
noon in Pershing
square downtown, and Tuesday nights at Hollywood and Highland for free
Jazz and Wine, Cheese and Grapes.
The new Batman is coming out with Heath Ledger, and the guy who
plays Batman is boring looking. I enjoyed working with Val Kilmer. He
was a handsome Batman. I'm the bass player in the Nyatech party.
I
worked on a movie called 'I Love You Man' and I am sunburned and
peeling... 2 weeks later we shot on Venice Beach for 2 daya, which was
mighty fun.The temperature the last few days has been around 80-104,
varying in the day time. Talk about your California Steaming!
The Hula Hoop just turned 50 years old.I love goofy stuff
like
that. I still have one and I bought some roller skates and just in time
I am going to a summer solstice roller derby hoe down. That's a trip. I
hope I don't skin my knees! It all reminds me of Flippers roller disco!
I saw "Does it Offend You Yeah" at Amoeba - which is our
local record store. I love them every though they are a baby band. They
got a record deal right away and they were in shock! The
record
companies need young victims these days...
Girlz of Zaetar had a reunion at Highland Park and at the 01
gallery. It was surreal we had 2 gigs filled with the band
Siggy...Tawee Kiva ,,who rocked a satellite dish, I mean he played a
miked satellite dish with a rock. Lots of trees and fruit and a very
Hippie vibe from our patrons, when we left they said, "Bless you for
bringing us your music," and we said, "Thank you for being here..."
I fell in love with a machine called a Thingamagoop and I can't
wait to play it poets, pregnant ladies, men with hair on
their faces,
cookies and Sun Ra footage. The New Girlz is quite trippy and wer'e
gonna be back for more all around HelLA.Brandy and Heydee were my
assistance all day long, Lucas Gonze from Alvin and Lucelle on Guitar,
Marc Leventhal from Trouble for Nora on guitar and I played DJX and
sang electronic opera-Jazz, Shoegaze and dance..
Come join us for Karaoke at the Rainbow every Tuesday and Vine Bar
on Sunday located at Fountain and Vine. Don't forget to watch Tequila
TV channel 24 Friday nights at 11pm The Van Gogh show is on at 11:30!
See you next month with more Underground news.
