Kimmy at my place and Flipper
at the Funhouse!

By Miss Oblivious

Kimmy one of my gals from California was finally enticed to visit me here in the NW, when her boyfriend's band was going to play at The Funhouse! She arrived on Monday and it was so great to see her after almost an entire year of absence! We spent some quality time together and I was able to take her on a small road trip to North bend (Twin Peaks film site) and Roslyn (Northern Exposure film site).

I envisioned a photo shoot with Kimmy at the Roslyn cemetery one of the most beautiful locations!

Plus she is a huge Northern Exposure fan so the trip was much anticipated!

I also was able to take her over to my home away from home The Cancan!

The Cancan is one of the first places I take all my visitors!

By the time Thursday rolled around the Cap'n was DJ'ing at the Tin hat & Kimmy was kind enough to watch our kiddies so I could go listen to the vinyl being spun my salty Cap'n! Plus her boy would be arriving from beyond after they were separated due to recording and hi-demand performances!

Friday was a blast I took her and Bruce to some prime Seattle locations! The Wayward Café for lunch and costume & display for wig fun! Mohawk wigs, caveman wigs and anything in between! Miss O purchased some silly feminine clown shoes Maryanne style! Bruce played the newest recordings for us and I was impressed a lot of times when a band of the past writes new music it honestly is not to my liking! But this was very original. It had the Flipper sound with a refreshing new feel!

Before we knew it, he was expected! We powdered our noses (well Kim and I did), and headed down to the Funhouse!

Flipper sound check with newly added bassist Krist! Dinner was devoured at the five spot with cocktails and Bruce humor, which is great by the way!

Flipper kicked ass! They played a lot of the 'ol favorites including Sex Bomb baby! Ted is a brilliant guitarist; he keeps his back to the audience with his waist length dreads in full view. Krist seemed very timid in the beginning, but after Bruce had sang some lyrics directly into Krists facial space a grin was cracked! Steve P was a brut on the drums! The night ended before ya knew it and we were well on our way back to Ballard for some much needed rest!

I hope Kimmy comes back soon!
