MIKE and YVONNE FRANKO have been busy getting T-Shirt and Vests ready for this years Burning Man over Labor Day Weekend.... There is no use of money allowed at Burning Man so they will use the clothes to barter for food and beer... They are screening a shit load of shirts so they will be eating well and getting a buzz for entire time of the event... MISS O was recently visiting the Bay Area from Seattle.... Her shows were all phenomenal.. JENINE de SHAZER and I went to see PRIMA DONNA at The Troubadour as a guest of KEVIN TYLER PRESTON Guitarist and Lead Singer for the band... As soon as we got to the entrance of the club we ran into RACHAEL MCCLURE, JOSHUA WHARTON and SEAN MCTIERMAN of MYSTIC KNIGHTS OF THE COBRA. JOSHUA and SEAN who were playing a gig with BOBBY JOE EBOLA the next night in Long Beach... They were all excited about the interview that LIS BOOTH had done with MYSTIC KNIGHTS OF THE COBRA for this current issue of PUNK GLOBE and of course we all had to drink as a toast to NANCY JACKSON who was celebrating her Birthday in their hometown of Crockette California.. I had just been hanging out with PAULEY PERRETTE and ANGELA GARBER earlier that day. NANCY had called to say she had gotten the Birthday Present I had sent her in the mail during that time.. I asked PAULEY who was driving if she could shout out "HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANCY" which made NANCY so tickled.... NCIS is her favorite TV show and ABBY SCIUTO is her favorite character on the show.. In fact she had just seen a repeat of NCIS on USA before she called that featured MS. PERRETTE.... Now back to The Troubadour Show I met a fun young punk boy named JOEY who played drums with the opening band that night called EMILY'S ARMY .. It turns out that he was JOEY ARMSTRONG son of GREEN DAY'S BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG sadly to say we missed their set...... We did see a bit of THE LORDS OF ALTAMONT set. We were front and center to see all of the PRIMA DONNA set.. They put on a impressive fun show.... Ran into EDEN GALINDO of MOTORCYCLE BOY and JACK RIVERA of THE STAINS in the crowd... JACK was there looking for VIVIENNE who works at Out Of The Closet on Western and Hollywood Blvd... They became very close while JACK worked there for a bit... After the show we all went back into the front bar laughing about some of the old GEEK FESTIVALS that JOHN GEEK and the guys in BOBBY JOE EBOLA put on in the Bay Area... We had a great time reminiscing about the shows especially one GEEK FEST in particular that took place on a beach embodied by what seemed to be a sandy beach with a warm lake... 2 1/2 hours northeast of San Francisco towards Chico... Keep in mind that it was 107 degree's during the day, in the high 80's in the evening, the booze was flowing and there was a shit load of bands playing the weekend.. WHITE TRASH DEBUTANTES, LINK 80, FIFTEEN, VISITOR 42, SUBINCISION, ERIK CORE, BOBBY JOE EBOLA, GREEN DAY, THE STINKY TOYS, RANCID and a shit load of other bands... But the star attraction besides ROBERT EGG PLANT(who was recently fired at Gilman Street) had to have been GLAMAZON... When they finally drove up in a huge bus loaded with gear they demanded to go to their dressing rooms and a meal as requested in their rider. They were pointed to a big tree as a possible dressing room and told that there were rice and veggies over the fire ... Needless to say GLAMAZON were livid. However before they drove off in a huff I coaxed RYNATA to cool off in the water.. She did borrow some shorts and went in past the waist...... After all it had been a long hot 2 1/2 hour ride on a bumpy dirt road filled with pot holes... But in all fairness to peeps at GEEK FEST they had been fore warned... I had told them numerous times that it was DIY and not to expect a A Day On The Green type festival.. Sadly I did could stay for the entire fest as I left the second night.. Sun burned and fucked up! However at The Troubadour that night - 15 years later I finally heard the the real dirt about the "wonderful lake" .. It seems that on the third and final day of the festival that quite a few folks noticed several Sewage Trucks driving by with Porto Potties in them and soon after that- the warm beautiful lake- that we had all taken a swim in had become a sewage dump.... With big old turds floating around in the water!! I guess we should have had that dressing room and five course dinner ready for GLAMAZON.. Karma!!!! Congratulations to S CLAY WILSON and his long time love LORRAINE CHAMBERLAIN they tied the knot last month.... I just reconnected with SIOBHAN "SHAMAMA" LOWE on Facebook.. It has been over 15 years since we have been in touch with one another... She is doing Poetry Slams in Virginia... Living the wild country life... Ooh we had some wild times atin San Francisco.. Grrrl if those walls could talk.... Glad to be back in touch... PUNK GLOBE will run some of her poetry soon... DARRON HEMANN is really excited! His label DC JAM RECORDS have just signed the Detroit funk/punk band called DOWNTOWN BROWN for the bands 7th release... THE VKTMS played a special 10 year Anniversary Show at Benders this last month to celebrate the life of the late NYNA CRAWFORD... The band had various Female Vocalists come in and sing various tunes that made THE VKTMS and NYNA so very popular... The Fabulous KATHY PECK, SOPHIE VOGEL, TERRY MORRIS and the sensational MERI ST. MARY were the guest singers involved in paying tribute to NYNA .... JUDY CANTU also joined in with the band playing harp making the show a huge success!! But the star of the night was LULA who showed up looking for guys to throw around.. It was also a benefit for The Haight Ashbury Runaway Center... Also on hand with a splendid set were HUGH PATTERSON, GREG LANGSTON and NO ALTERNATIVE .... Condolences to the Family and Friends of the late TOBY RAGE who lived in the East Bay.... KATHI KUBERSKI LIVERMORE sister of the late ROSEANN KUBERSKI who wrote "Ask Sonny Bono" for PUNK GLOBE recently passed away from her latest bout with Breast Cancer.... Condolences out to her son KURT and her husband RICHARD LIVERMORE along with her Grand Children ... We must also bid a sad farewell to Canadian Wrestler LUNA VACHON who passed away.. I also heard some very sad news on the street PAIGE a homeless Woman who hung out near Hollywood Methodist Church on Franklin. She was found dead by a dumpster... She had been a friend of both PAULEY PERRETTE and myself... She never asked for money or help but would always had a big smile on her face when you would see her... She mentioned being a singer in a punk band that had played The Coconut Teaszer in the 90's.... We shared a bond and respect for one another... I am very sad to hear about her horrible fate... Rest in Peace PAIGE.... BRUCE JOYNER and THE RECONSTRUCTION have released a new digital CD called "Elements" look for it...... Who will win BIG BROTHER 12? JESSICA DICKSON married her long time love from child hood ROBERT SEKULA in Texas.... They will return home to Italy soon... Where has that Vixen the tantalizing JOSIE COTTON been? TIMM CARNEY and PETER CLUFF had a charming Apartment Warming Party at their Hancock Park residence also known as the LOS ALTOS Apartments... JENINE de SHAZER, ZAC EFRON and GINGER COYOTE all arrived together for the soiree... The Los Altos was built in 1926 and almost every star who was big in the 30's and 40's has lived there at one time or another.. MAE WEST, BETTE DAVIS, LORETTA YOUNG, JUDY GARLAND, CLARA BOW, MARION DAVIES and WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST were among the many names being tossed around as former residents.. Apartment Manager DAVID STEIB gave us a sneak peak at WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST fabulous apartment complete with ceramic tiled floors, tall ceilings with fabulous designs, sunken bath tub, gold leafing and a stairwell leading to a huge third floor boudoir where he and actress MARION DAVIES did the nasty... MARION could enter inconspicuously on the third floor to avoid any nasty remarks about her being WILLIE'S mistress... Or as some referred to her "A mattress with legs".... I wonder if MAE WEST lived in the building during that time? It was no secret that MAE was no fan of MARION DAVIES in fact it was HEARST who lead a huge boycott against any Movies that featured MS.WEST... But MAE fought back and won the public over with her charm and wit... You did not fuck with a talent like MAE WEST who was a force to reckoned with.. DAVID also showed us the bar and all the secret passage ways in and out of the apartment.. We spoke about all the luminaries who had filled the room during that era... In fact the Apartment was used as the lair of ANGEL aka DAVID BOREANAX who rose to fame originally on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER ... He is now notorious for having a fling with one of Ho's that dated JESSE JAMES and being blackmailed by her... One of the guests at TIMM and PETER'S party was a delightful an Irish Woman named MAURICE. I had asked her to ask DAVID which apartment that JUSTIN BIEBER lived in... But of course he would or could not reveal if JUSTIN lived there or not.. MAURICE who reminded me a bit of SHARON OSBOURNE responded without blinking an eye "I've Got Bieber Fever"... I also had to add a bit of humor to night by saying I found a sign behind the wall in one of the secret passages that said "Die All Cooperate Swine... SLA All The Way... TANIA Lives " ... In the 70's WILLIAM'S Grand Daughter PATTY HEARST was kidnapped and "brainwashed" after a 15 minute seminar of all the benefits of converting into a sub culture gang called the SLA.. In their fight against the rich... To fight oppression and greed... So TANIA (She was using just one name way before MADONNA) was born and she immediately helped rob a Bank in San Francisco... The SLA also forced her folks to give out food to the homeless in SF and tried using TANIA as bait for the Cops to release other jailed SLA members... Which did not work... Soon they were on the run setting off car bombs and having shoot outs in L.A.. TIMM CARNEY and I thought it was logical the TANIA would think of this location as a hiding place... "I have a key to my Grandpa's Apartment in Hancock Park. The Cops would never think of looking for us there" .. We both thought it would be cool for The Los Altos to add TANIA along with BILL and EMILY HARRIS names to the luminary list of past residents.. The building is like a museum and you could spend days strolling around to see it all.. Now back to the party it was a lovely time and PETER and TIMM were such gracious hosts.. The food was exquisite.. MAURICE (who has Bieber Fever) arrived with LUCY and CATALINA they all lived in Pacific Palisades.. We started talking about young guys... It seemed at first that only MAURICE was a Cougar but after a few drinks and some thinking LUCY admitted that she would bang TAYLOR LOCKNER in a second...By the end of the night TIMM had broken out WHITE TRASH DEBUTANTES and GIRL BAND Cd's and Punk Rawk was blasting away from the Penthouse Apartment that once was the home of Actress CLARA BOW..... My ultra cool pals NICK WILLIAMS and LISA BARDES are moving permanently to Hawaii before October 1.. They are tired of the Mainland so they are going to try out life on the Big Island.. Sorta like GILLIGAN and MARY ANN did for an endless three hour tour...... I introduced LISA to REBECCA WILSON who used to live in Hawaii for some tips ... ATOM AGE from The East Bay have a new CD out called "Kill Surf City" on Solidarity Records.. An after show party for THE BUSINESS which was to be at The Iron Road in Vancouver was canceled by the Vancouver City Hall ... DAVE BOWES had gotten all the proper permits and licenses. Along with all the extensive preparation's needed for fire safety had been taken care of .... Then the shit hit the fan... THE FLOYDIAN DEVICE is getting all sorts of fans and groupies for his great PUNK GLOBE covers.... Former GENERAL HOSPITAL star IGNACIO SERRICCHIO (Diego Sanchez) did a kick ass set of comedy at JON LOVITZ'S Comedy Club in Universal City, CA recently... "Voices For Justice" a Rally to support THE WEST MEMPHIS THREE recently took place in Little Rock Arkansas.. JOHNNY DEPP, NATALIE MAINES, PATTI SMITH, PEARL JAM and BEN HARPER all lent their support to the cause and appeared at the rally... BRIAN KROLL is excited that the recording and mix is done for the new MY SON THE BUM CD.. The band are all busy with other projects but they made time to get into the studio to record a bunch of tunes... She is such a sweetheart!! RON EMORY who has been playing with TSOL for years has a new band called THE SECOND HAND SAINTS... MS TRACEY keeping busy up in the Bay Area and excited that "DEXTER" will be airing soon on Show Time..... JAYNE COUNTY kicked major booty at her fun and exciting Art Show in Maine...... KYMARA LONERGAN and MILO ROCK were very happy with event..Alot of work was put into the show to make it a success.
