Hope that all the readers who live in the good ole USA ready for some really Hot July 4th fun !! I know that this issue of PUNK GLOBE is one hot firecracker... This just in.... The Supreme Court declared Proposition 8 was unconstitutional and invalidated DOMA the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act.. JAMIE PINA how did your interview at Whole Foods go??? I miss my pal JENNY SHIMIZU the ultra hot Japanese American super-model who dated ANGELINA JOLIE and MADONNA ... It has been awhile since I have seen her... STEVE BALDERSON has two films FAR FLUNG STAR and OCCUPYING RED that will soon be released... IRIS BERRY and I were both supposed to have filmed cameo's in FAR FLUNG STAR . Sadly, we both came down with that horrible intestinal flu before filming and had to bow out... JONATHAN PALEY was also supposed to have had a small role in the film... Don't know if he made the final cut or not.. Here is a clip of FAR FLUNG STAR ........

I am still in shock over the death of my dear friend ARTURO VEGA ... ARTURO was one of the nicest and most talented people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He also had a wicked sense of humor... He was a RAMONE ! He did their lights and designed all the bands tee-shirts. And most important he was their good friend and confident... It was at his loft on 2nd Street in the East Village that THE RAMONES played some of their first shows... When I heard the news. I immediately contacted VERA RAMONE KING , who confirmed that it was true... His passing along with JOEY, DEE DEE and JOHNNY is indeed the End Of The Century!!! Rest in Peace ARTIE ... You will be missed by all who knew you.....
JAMES GANDOLFINI best known as TONY SOPRANO to the masses around the world was on vacation in Italy when he suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 51..... The music community are mourning the loss of ALAN MYERS . ALAN was best known for playing with DEVO for ten years, he passed away from brain cancer....LINA LECARO'S dear friend and former classmate RACHEL ANN ROGERS also passed away... She was a creative fun fixture in the Silver Lake community and she will be missed by all who know her.. FRANK RUFFINO guitarist for the band CHINA WHITE who was awaiting a liver transplant left us in early June. There had been a benefit at The Punk Museum that IRIS BERRY had been helping organize a benefit to help raise money for his medical expenses.. Bands played and bands such as NO DOUBT, MOTORHEAD, SOCIAL DISTORTION, RANCID, BLACK FLAG and BAD RELIGION were just a few of the many bands that donated items to be auctioned off to help him.. DEANNA LYNN HART succumbed to cancer on June 10th.. She was a very close friend of JOE and CHE MASCOLINO, JEAN TREICHEL, SAUL BRIDGES and JUSTINE SANFORD .. Jakarta is mourning the loss of ACID SEPTIC guitarist for the ground breaking band ANTI SEPTIC ...CHRISTINE CALDRON was stabbed to death by three panhandlers on Hollywood Blvd. It seems that CHRISTINE had taken a photo of them but refused to give them a $1.00 for the photo. She was then stabbed repeatedly and later taken to the hospital where she died.. Blues Artist BOBBY BLAND also left us, Gospel singer MARY LOVE found peace, SLIM WHITMAN died from heart failure, CHRIS LEVOIR from the Canadian band THE MARK INSIDE died in Toronto of unknown causes,
ROCIO PONCE of LA BESTIA contacted me to let me know that she would be singing with both MEDIA BLITZ and LA BESTIA for a very special tribute show for MIKE SOLIS of THE STAINZ who recently passed away... I know the date is July 20th but do not have information about the venue yet.. I am happy to hear that MS. PONCE will be performing once again with MEDIA BLITZ for this special show.. I just love LISA aka ROCIO to no end... She is a classically trained flamenco dancer and has a voice that just will not stop.... A vicious attack happened on Hollywood Blvd when a young transgender female named VIVIAN DIEGO was blinsided from behind and knocked unconcious by one of the four jock males who were following her. After she was down the other three joined in in kicking and punching her with glee.. VIVIAN had just gotten off work from Beso which is a resturant owned by EVA LONGORIA.. She was headed east bound towards the red line station to go home. Then came the hate crime attack and she was left there to die.. Luckily help came in time and got her to the hospital.. There is a surveillance tape of the whole incident and there and a $25,000 reward being offered for the identity of the thugs. At press time one of the suspects had been arrested.. Now for some fun news !!!!

How exciting is this ... MARGARET CHO and SUSAN LUCCI were both guests on The View on the same day... PUNK GLOBE writers STEVEN JONES and JOHNNY PARIS went to see BLONDIE in Liverpool, England and met up with MATT KATZ-BOHEN .. But a miracle happened a super cool woman named JOANNE called me with news that she had found the phone... I contacted TYLER and the wonderful JOANNE returned him the cell phone by mail... TIMM CARNEY designed a fun campaign poster for me in my race to win S.F. HOMECOMING QUEEN 2013 on September 22nd at The Verdi Club @ 24 24 Mariposa Street in San Francisco, California... I Spoke with the very talented EUGENE ROBINSON who used to sing with WHIPPING BOY in the 80's.. He is currently living in Mountain View and working on putting out a new publication out in the fall that is being backed by Google and Goldman Sachs.... Pretty Cool EUGENE ... BRIAN KROLL has been busy writing new material for MY SON THE BUM with the bands new vocalist MICHAEL WUERTH .. They are both collaborating with production on the songs... The band has hired the video team of BEANS AND BUELLER who are centered in Montreal, Canada who are working on three animated video's for the new tracks. One of the new video's will feature a real actress with the animated characters... We can't wait to see the end results BRIAN ..... How many of you saw "Wife Swap" with MELISSA RIVERS and Bristol Palin... MELISSA was good but JOAN RIVERS made the show worth watching...

THE FOOD NETWORK CHANEL has cancelled PAULA DEEN'S show after the Racism Scandal. People like HARVEY LEVIN of TMZ and Afro American Radio Host LARRY ELDER do not condone her choice of words, but also are quick to point out that the charges are only being made by one person... HEDI BECK who did her own very special design to her PUNK GLOBE tee- Shirt recently had a whirlwind trip to Las Vegas in 24 hours... BIL MCRACKIN purchased a PUNK GLOBE TEE SHIRT and he sent me a message telling me that THE MCRACKIN'S will be celebrating their 20 year anniversary next year.. He said they would be releasing a new CD to celebrate the event... He also told me that JAY from THE PROZACS will be flying into Vancouver in August to collaborate on a project with him.
