"DC 1"

1. Whatever happened, happened
2. Rewaking To Realize
3. The Ash It Rained
4. Cosmonaut (At The Drive In)
I've been listening to tons of acoustic punk lately and don't see that habit changing anytime soon. I tend to favor the bold political statements of the Riot Folk peeps, though also appreciate the inter personal/confessional style of Elliot Smith, Bright Eyes and Spoonboy who seems to straddle both styles. The personal is political, visa versa, and all that. That said, Dre Carlan of In Full Feather has made a very, very pretty thing in the form of the four song EP '.DC I'.

Carlan's guitar work, particularly on the first two tracks is more comparable to Modest Mouse and Pedro The Lion than any singer songwriter I can think of with vocals that are reminiscent of Milo Aukerman of the Descendants. At The Drive In fans will no doubt appreciate the 'Cosmonaut' cover, though A.T.D.I. fans would no doubt appreciate this EP irregardless. This is the music box inside a seashell side of punk rock and no, no one can tell me that side of punk rock doesn't exist cause I just heard it.
