Punk
Globe: Thanks Barmy for doing this interview with Punk Globe.
How long did you play with Antiseptic? And are you playing with
anyone now?
Barmy: I played in Antiseptic for about 16 years, since
i started this band on 1990 and quited on early 2006.
Now I'm singing in my new punk rock band called The Berries.
Punk Globe: I know you were the lead singer. Tell us about the
other members of the band?
Barmy: The last members are Acid (guitar), Black (bass),
Wance (Drum), and Josi (another singer). Acid and Black stayed
in jail since last year, Josi and Wance started their new punk
rock band called the Mess.
Punk Globe: Who wrote the music was it the whole band ?
Barmy: Yes, we wrote our music together.
Punk Globe: Who were your inspirations for starting Antiseptic?
Barmy: Before I started Antiseptic, I was a metalhead. I used to
listened for many thrash metal bands alot. I was bored with
metal scene, so I started to listen for punk rock and hardcore
music. I started to listen for bands like Sex Pistols, Ramones,
D.O.A, Misfits, D.R.I, GG Allin, and Black Flag. When I started
Antiseptic those bands inspired me alot.
Punk Globe: What is the Punk Scene like in Jakarta? Were you
able to play alot of shows with the band? Are there alot of
clubs?
Barmy: Antiseptic is the first punk/hardcore band in Indonesia.
When we started it all there weren't so many people interested
in punk music, only us and few of our friends. Most of people
were into metal music at that time. Back then only one club
supported our music, the club called Pid Pub. We played
everywhere, at the schools, at universities, rock festivals,
small clubs, and any places we can played. But now,
punk/hardcore music is so big in Jakarta, thousands kids are
into punk/hardcore music. Thousands punk bands were born in
Jakarta, and we have alot of small clubs supported our music
right now. I think punk scene in Jakarta is more more better
than before.

Punk Globe: Are there all age venue's in Jakarta?
Barmy: Most of the venues are all ages. We don't have age limit
for alcohol drinking, crazy isn't it ?! hahaha !!
Punk Globe: Did you ever tour to other Countries ?
Barmy: Never. We've just played around Indonesia, it's not easy
for doing tour to another countries. Need alot of money, and we
are not rich enough for doing that.
Punk Globe: Tell the readers about your favorite show you ever
played?
Barmy: My favorite show was a metal festival at Granadha on
1991. Granadha is a quite big hall in Jakarta. There were about
50 kids supported us and started a riot when we were playing.
Cops came to the stage to stopped us, but the kids were throwing
the cops with chairs and stuffs. After that we were banned to
play in any metal festival. Damn, I really love that show !
Punk Globe: How about your worst show?
Barmy : I don't have any worst show with Antiseptic. But my
final gig with them at a club called Parc on early 2006 was
quite sad thing for me. Because it was my last time I did crazy
things with them.
Punk Globe: Did you ever get to play with touring bands?
Barmy: Never. Not so many good bands came to Indonesia.

Punk Globe: You are currently editing your own Fanzine called
Good Old Days. Tell the readers about it...
Barmy: Good Old Days is a punkzine that i started last year with
my friend Dinda. I did my zine after i quited Antiseptic. I
started doing interviews with some good bands and cool people
including Ginger Coyote and White Trash Debutantes on 1st issue.
Issue no.2 will out next January. I did interviews with Bobby
Steele (Undead), John Stabb (Government Issue), and some
Indonesian punk bands, and it's included free CD. It's 4 bands
and 8 songs compilation of Jakarta punk bands, including my new
band the Berries. Good Old Daya Punkzine is more dedicated to
any good old punk scenes around the world, and the big reason i
started the zine because zine is already forgotten with
generation of today in Indonesia. Zine is an important thing in
punk culture, keep it alive !!!
Punk Globe: How many issues have you put out? How many copies of
each issue do you put out?
Barmy: Just one issue so far. Only 100 copies for the 1st issue,
but for the second issue i think I'll put out about 200 copies.
Punk Globe: Who would be your dream interview? If you interview
anyone who would it be?
Barmy: I really love do interview with Duane Peters, he's my
favorite punk rocker and skateboarder, I love all his bands.
Shane MacGowan, he's my favorite singer. And also Joey Shithead,
Rose Melberg from Tiger Trap/Go Sailor/Softies, and Amalia
Fletcher from Tallulah Gosh/Heavenly.
Punk Globe: How can Punk Globe readers get a copy of Good Old
Days?
Barmy: The shipping to overseas is so expensive. I think I'll
send some copies to Punk Globe, and hope Punk Globe want to copy
it to some People over there.
Punk Globe: You have My Space sites for yourself, Antiseptic and
Good Old Days can you give the readers the addresses so they can
check you, Antiseptic and Good Old Days out.
Barmy: Here's some addresses. Barmy O.D: posiedge@yahoo.com,

besides Jakarta.. Where has been your favorite place? Do you
have any plans to visit the USA?
Barmy: Sydney, Australia is my favorite place so far. But i
relay love to go to any new places like Japan and USA.

any other comments that you may have for Punk Globe readers?
