This nifty little two film set contains a Japanese riff on a well-known concept. In The Invisible Man Appears a scientist has come up with a serum that causes invisibility. Unlike the Claude Rains invisible man, this scientist has good intentions for his discovery but some gangsters find out about his breakthrough, steal it and follow through with Rains’ plan to use invisibility for crime and to eventually rule the world. It’s a fun flick and the effects were done by the legendary Eiji Tsuburaya of Godzilla fame. The second film, The Invisible Man Vs. The Human Fly is a murder mystery involving murders followed by a buzzing sound.
