RANT AND RAVE WITH JAYNE COUNTY!!! Hey, everyone! I
would like to thank Ginger for allowing me to have my
own column, here at Punk Globe! I promise you a column
full of thrills and chills! And some really great
rants to piss off everyone who is not good natured
enough to firmly place their tongue in my, I mean, in
their cheek and chuckle at all the dirt I dig up on
all your fave stars and non stars!!! I will also give
you my run down on the state of the soon to be
destroyed world!!! Lots of piss you off politics and
the un covering of the lies and deceit that in-compass
both, our Government AND the Rock and Roll world!!!
Crayons ready!!! Turn the page!!!! Begin to color
ME!!! OR, pen ready, now FIRE!!! First of all, I would
like to express my disgust with all these horrible
music award shows on the telly. All this record
corporation ass kissing and God thanking makes me want
to throw up on Mariah Canaries* over exposed tits!!! I
say Canary because wouldn*t it be wonderful if someone
plucked her feathers and sent her back to the chicken
pot!!! Extra pepper please! She has as much soul as
Lou Reed singing on a *Best Of Bread* cd!!! And the
state of Hip Hop! Oh please! If I see one more half
naked black woman with an ass the size of Big Ben,
gyrating like the axle on one of Jan and Dean*s
runaway skate boards, I am going shit enough bricks to
build a Baptist church! And, do all the latest Hip Hop
songs have to sound like one of Nelly*s rejects off
his first cd??? Please! Gag me with a pan cake
flipper!!! The best Hip Hop song? The best R&B song?
The best rock song? The best new band? Etc. Etc. Etc.
Says who??? Some record company idiot who wants to
make a fast million off of anyone they push out into
the ever dwindling record market??? Money, money,
money!! It has destroyed Rock and Roll! Corporate Pop
Music. That should be a new category in Billboard
Magazine! Music to make money by! Hey, that is a great
title for the next Mariah Canary cd! Yes, let*s make
MORE money for the fat, greedy Music Industry! Oh
well, we all know where the good music has gone don*t
we? IN THE PAST!!! Except for a few good artists
around today, the majority of the crap coming out of
the recording industry is pure donkey SHIT!!! Can I
get a AMEN!!! I said AMEN!!!! The truth shall set us
free!!! The recording industry is terrified of good
ole, raunchy, edgy, fuck you, up against the wall Rock
and Roll. And when I say Rock and Roll, I mean REAL
Punk Rock as well. They tried to destroy the music
after the big Rock and Roll payola scandals of the
50*s. We went from Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Louis,
Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent
and Eddie Cochran to Fabian, Paul Anka, Bobby Rydell
and Bobby Vinton!!! Oh and let*s not forget the
HORRIBLE Pat Boone!!! (I hope I spelled all those
names correctly!) Let*s see. Let*s even do another
one. Here we go. We went from Laverne Baker, Wanda
Jackson, Etta James and Big Mama Thornton to Connie
Francis, Doris Day, Anette Fabrey, and Leslie Gore!
One more time!!! We went from Dale Hawkins, Bill Haley
and the Comets, Danny and the Juniors, Carl Perkins,
Link Ray, The Rockin Rebels, Dwain Eddie And The Rebel
Rousers, Sandy Nelson, The Big Bopper and Ritchie
Valens to Bobby Vee, Nat King Cole, Steve Lawrence,
Chubby Checkers (Fats Domino please come back!) and
Paul Peterson! Record industry controlled, watered
down, scrubbed clean God fearing, *Pop* stars! It
looked as though the recording industry had finally
got rid of all that noisy, bad for you, Devil*s music,
Rock and Roll.! Just when they thought it was safe to
once again feel secure in the knowledge that they
finally had stamped out real Rock and Roll, HERE THEY
CAME!!!! The Beatles!!! Yes, a real Rock and Roll band
playing, guess who? All the artists that the industry
had gotten rid of! The Beatles were doing, Chuck
Berry, Little Richard, Carl Perkings, and a host of
early American Rock and Rollers! Then came an even
more SHOCK. The Rolling Stones! Playing even more
nastier, scary old R*B and out and out black Blues.
They were playing, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker,
Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddly and giving it
all an even scarier swing by looking like a bunch of
long haired, daughter screwing, dope addict,
degenerates! Then of course, that began an era that
gave us some of the most creative, rockin, original,
rebellious, Rock and Roll of all time. The Kinks, The
Pretty Things, The Zombies, The Nashville Tenn's, The
Animals and many more good Rock and Roll bands. That
grew into the Psychedelic period giving us fantastic
music by The Doors, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix,
Jefferson Airplane, and the many, many 60*s
Psychedelic Garage Punk bands, many who were featured
on the Nuggets double lp, compiled by the legendary
Lenny Kaye, of Patti Smith Group fame! AND here is the
big crunch gang! LISTEN CLOSELY!!! Those 60*s
Psychedelic Garage Punk bands were the MAJOR influence
of the mid 70*s New York City and London Punk bands!!!
Especially so, since the New York City Punk Movement
followed the Glam and Glitter movement of the early
70*s, BOTH movements originating out of NEW YORK CITY.
The other cities of the world followed suit, BUT both
the Glam and Punk movements originated in NEW YORK
CITY. And anyone saying otherwise is a FUCKING LYING
ASSHOLE who dosn*t know their Punk Rock History! I WAS
THERE for BOTH movements and played a mayor part in
starting and promoting BOTH eras! All you have to do
is get your dates straight, and groups in the right
order!!! And the beginning groove and feelilngs that
existed in New York City just before each of these
movements began. Anyway, you may ask, *What the fuck
does all of this have to do with the current state of
music and these horrible music award shows!* My
answer? FUCKING NOTHING AND THAT IS THE WHOLE FUCKING
PROBLEM!!!!!!! That is why music is in such dire
straights at the moment, especially the lack of good
Rock and Roll (Or Punk.) bands!!! The Recording
Industry once again has succeeded in stomping out,
real Rock and Roll!!! They are LEECHES and money
grubbing thieves!!! They suck the blood out of the
music and replace it with money and a sanitized
version that will make them even MORE MONEY!!! It is
not about the artist or the music. It is about the
market. THE MONEY, and that has KILLED Rock and Roll!
And until we are ready to stand up to these fat assed,
mega, corporation VAMPIRES, we will never have any
real, raunchy, rebellious, FUCK YOU Rock and Roll ever
again!!! We will once again have to get back into our
garages, and start putting out our own records and
selling them at gigs and over the Internet or thru
small, independent, record companies. Just like the
early Punk movements of New York City and London. THAT
my friends, is how it all began! Do it your fucking
self! FUCK THE SYSTEM AND ALL THE GREEDY BASTARDS THAT
CONTROL US ALL!!! Rock till you drop!!! Well, that is
